Our history
Leading customers to success for 25 years
Rackspace Technology is a global enterprise AI infrastructure and solutions provider, helping organizations operate and scale AI, cloud, and data workloads across public, private, and hybrid environments. But our foundation has always been the same: solving complexity for customers.
We helped create the managed hosting industry in 1998 during the early days of the internet, when businesses were trying to figure out how to reliably host and operate websites that were becoming increasingly critical to their business. We did what others wouldn’t: answered the phone, hired experts who cared, and stayed relentlessly focused on customer outcomes. That approach became the foundation for Fanatical Support® and has evolved into the Fanatical Experience® we deliver today.
As technology evolved, so did the challenges enterprises faced. The rise of virtualization and later public cloud introduced new levels of scale, flexibility, and speed, but also greater operational complexity, fragmented tooling, and growing skills gaps. We recognized that customers needed more than infrastructure. They needed a trusted operator to help manage and optimize increasingly complex environments. That led us to pioneer managed cloud services, helping enterprises confidently run workloads across public, private, and hybrid environments.
