Migration and Modernization

Move once. Run it right.

We put every workload in the environment where it belongs: private, public or hybrid. Then we run it for you. Accountability runs from first assessment through day-to-day operations.

The hard problems arrive after cutover. We stay accountable long after.

Cost, reliability and compliance questions surface once the workload is live. When responsibility is divided across a hyperscaler, an integrator and a platform vendor, no single team owns the outcome. At Rackspace, one team does.

Workload first approach

Every workload, in the right environment

We don’t start with a platform. We start with the workload and what it needs. Regulated and data-sensitive workloads often belong on private cloud; elastic, scale-out workloads may fit better on AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud. Rackspace operates them all, so every recommendation is based on fit, and assessment, migration and operations run as one continuous program.

Assess

We map your applications and dependencies, then place each workload based on its security, compliance, performance and cost needs.

Migrate

Rehost, replatform or refactor in planned waves, starting with one meaningful workload, validated before go-live with 24x7x365 coverage.

Operate

Rackspace owns monitoring, patching, resilience and cost management after go-live, across every environment your workloads run in.

Why Rackspace

What you get with one operator

One accountable operator

Assessment, migration and operations under one team and one set of SLAs. When something needs attention, you make one call.

Built for regulated environments

Governance, sovereignty and audit readiness designed into the target environment from day one.

25 years running what matters

Mission-critical environments operated 24x7x365 across more than 25 years and every generation of infrastructure.

Fanatical Experience®

The engineers who plan your migration stay embedded after go-live. That’s Fanatical Experience.

I haven’t seen this speed of migration before, and neither has anyone in my whole professional network.

AI-ready foundation

Modernize storage, networking and compute into a governed, production-ready base for AI.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Workload by workload, based on data sensitivity, compliance obligations, performance profile and how predictably the cost needs to behave. Most enterprises end up with a mix. We operate AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and governed private cloud, so the recommendation is based on fit rather than platform.

Planned waves, a tested rollback path for every cut-over and a parallel run where the workload demands it. We operate Epic EMR environments and core banking platforms for regulated banks, and our customers test failover on a regular schedule so the path is proven before it’s needed.

Jurisdiction, access and audit trail are settled in the target design before anything moves. Our environments are built for HIPAA, FCA/PRA and similar regimes, and the question of who can reach the data and from where has a documented answer in every environment we operate.

Close to the data they use, in an environment that meets the governance requirements around that data. For regulated or sensitive data that often means governed private cloud. For training, experimentation and burst capacity, public cloud is frequently the right fit. Migration is often the first step toward an environment that supports both.

Scope sets the timeline. A single meaningful workload typically moves within weeks; a full core-system program runs months. We build the wave plan from the assessment and track delivery against it.
