Recent VCSP changes are prompting customers and partners to evaluate their VMware plans. See how Rackspace can help you stay supported and move forward.

If you rely on VMware — whether as a customer or a service provider — recent updates to the VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) program may be creating uncertainty around renewals, licensing and long-term support. These changes are prompting many customers and service providers to revisit their plans and ask important questions about who will manage their workloads going forward, how renewals will be handled and what to do if their provider is no longer eligible.

We’re here to help everyone — customers and service providers alike — make sense of the changes, explore their options and move forward with clarity and confidence.

A quick look at what’s changing

Beginning November 1, 2025, VMware is updating how services are delivered through the VCSP program:

  • The current VCSP and white-label models will end on October 31, 2025
  • Going forward, only VCSP partners invited into the new program may offer renewals or new VMware services
  • Partners not included in the program will still be able to support existing customer contracts, but not new ones

What this means for VMware customers

If you’re a VMware customer, this is a good time to confirm your provider’s status and consider your long-term VMware strategy. Depending on whether your provider remains eligible, you may need to explore a transition to ensure continuity.

At Rackspace Technology, we’re committed to helping you stay in control of your VMware environment with support that fits your unique needs. That includes:

  • Guidance on licensing changes and physical core metering
  • Managed VMware solutions built on certified VCF architecture
  • Support for hybrid deployments across Rackspace, public cloud and on-prem
  • Built-in disaster recovery, backup and compliance solutions
  • Structured migration programs to minimize risk and disruption

Whether your focus is stability, modernization, or both, we’ll help you move forward with clarity.

What this means for VMware cloud service providers

If you’re a CSP affected by these changes, you may be rethinking how to best serve your customers moving forward. After October 31, you’ll no longer be able to sign new VMware contracts or process renewals unless your organization is part of the new program.

That’s where Rackspace can help. Our referral and reseller program gives you a path forward so you can continue supporting your clients, even if you’re no longer eligible under the new program.

We can:

  • Provide continuity through our authorized VCSP status
  • Help you preserve customer relationships and reduce churn
  • Offer flexible collaboration models tailored to your business
  • Extend your service portfolio through partnership
  • Support migrations with the Rackspace Accelerated Migration Program, which removes financial and technical barriers through targeted assessments, expert-led planning and white-glove onboarding

Whether you want to fully transition customers or collaborate on long-term support, we’ll work with you to find the right solution.
