Successful Migration Allows British Heart Foundation to Boost Fundraising, Outreach Goals

Sept. 29 is World Heart Day, which promotes “healthy heart equity for all” and celebrates Heart Heroes – people who encourage a heart-healthy life. World Heart Day has taken on deeper meaning for me this year, as I’ve worked closely with Rackspace customer the British Heart Foundation, whose mission is to create a world free of "heartbreak" — of heart and circulatory diseases — by 2030. The largest independent funder of research into heart and circulatory diseases in the UK, BHF aims to raise more money, increase its charitable activities and its membership over the next decade. To reach these ambitious goals, BHF will rely on its website, which houses all its fundraising campaigns, an online retail business and information for all its stakeholders. That reliance means the non-profit needed a robust and agile platform to keep its website up, even when fundraising traffic is high – such as during World Heart Day. Beyond a robust infrastructure, however, BHF also needed an expert, seasoned partner to advise on the right path to take — and that’s where Rackspace stepped in. Through our consultative approach, Rackspace Professional Services worked collaboratively with the charity to ensure not a minute of downtime occurred during the six month migration. I hope you'll take a moment to enjoy the video, above, and learn more about the incredible work being done by the British Heart Foundation. It truly is an honor to work with them.
