Rackspace Hybrid Cloud Powers HubSpot’s Significant Year-On-Year Growth Projections
Comprehensive multi-function online marketing tools delivered on flexible power of Rackspace’s OpenStack-powered public, private cloud and dedicated server platforms
San Antonio, Texas - April 16, 2013 - Rackspace® Hosting (NYSE: RAX), the open cloud company, has joined forces with inbound marketing software company HubSpot to support its all-in-one marketing Software-as-a-Service set of solutions. HubSpot will now drive its multi-featured marketing engine from the Rackspace open hybrid cloud solutions to support their comprehensive marketing toolset featuring blogging, analytics, social media, email, automation, keyword research functions and more.
Serving more than 8,600 companies in 56 countries worldwide, HubSpot will now benefit from using Rackspace open hybrid cloud technology at the heart of their operation, which spans across Rackspace Public Cloud, Rackspace Private Cloud, powered by OpenStack, and dedicated environments. As HubSpot’s customers continue to leverage inbound marketing to engage prospects and customers for their business, their infrastructure needs continue to grow exponentially. In fact, HubSpot projects that they will need to double their infrastructure needs over the next year. By providing HubSpot with the capability to match application needs with any form factor – public cloud, private cloud and bare metal – all backed by Fanatical Support®, Rackspace was able to uniquely deliver a supported hybrid solution that was optimized for their needs. The inbound marketing company can now handle rapidly growing and changing workloads as they expand their product offerings and their customer base diversifies. The blend of bare metal through a virtualized cloud allows for various workloads and is burstable as the workload demands.
"Here at HubSpot we move at a fast pace. From idea to production, it could be just 30 minutes, so we have always utilized public cloud services to scale with the workload spikes. As we now apply our model to Rackspace Private Cloud with our OpenStack implementation, we expect to reap the benefits of provisioning efficiencies in an open hybrid environment,” said Jim O’Neill, CIO, HubSpot. "The flexibility to marry private cloud and dedicated is very powerful. Rackspace’s Fanatical Support is second to none. Anytime I have ever had a question, we can get a Racker on the phone within a minute who knows exactly what to do and can help us. That’s the kind of support and service people love, and it is an approach that we aspire to in order to create marketing that people love.”
Open source technology based clouds such as the Rackspace Private Cloud have allowed HubSpot to build a hyper growth business model with minimal software expenses, which frees up time to focus on its core business of providing customers with a solid marketing platform. The innovation around OpenStack powered clouds helps ensure that initiatives move forward and continue to meet HubSpot’s needs. Rackspace consistently delivers Fanatical Support in any model chosen.
“Engineering its marketing solutions to run on the Rackspace hybrid cloud platforms means that HubSpot no longer needs to worry about datacenter infrastructure. The company’s product team can continue to focus on building great marketing products without needing to focus on inventory management, ISP/Internet capacity, or the geographic location of any of its staff,” said Jim Curry, SVP and GM Rackspace Private Cloud. “Deploying on Rackspace allows HubSpot to focus on its core business, the construction and delivery of one of the world’s most comprehensive and simple to use marketing platform.”
This morning, Rackspace and HubSpot present the keynote presentation at 9:45 am PT at the OpenStack Summit in Portland, OR to describe how and why HubSpot is focusing on OpenStack to power its business instead of proprietary alternatives.
