Help Tool for hosted Email and Lync


Rackspace provides a self-service Help Tool to assist you and your users with setting up mobile devices, email clients, and Microsoft Lync. You can log in to the Help Tool at emailhelp.rackspace.com with your email address and password, and the tool will provide step-by-step instructions that work with your specific server configuration.

Note for administrators: You can streamline the process of configuring a client or device for Exchange or Lync by setting a record in DNS for your domain that points to the Rackspace autodiscover server. For more information about autodiscover, see DNS records for email with Rackspace.

The Help Tool provides setup instructions for the following services on specific clients and devices:

If your domain is on Hosted Exchange 2007, the Help Tool will not provide setup instructions. You can find the username and server settings required by your email client in the Cloud Office Control Panel from the Client Setup tab or in the User Control Panel.

IMAP with SSL

The Help Tool provides manual instructions to set up IMAP access to email for the following clients and devices:

  • Outlook (for Windows and Mac)
  • Mac Mail
  • iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad
  • Android devices
  • Windows Phone
  • BlackBerry Internet Service, BlackBerry Z10, and BlackBerry Q10 (using Mobile Sync)

The Help Tool provides Mobile Sync instructions for domains that have it enabled. For more information about Mobile Sync, see Adding A Mobile Sync License.

Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013

The Help Tool provides instructions to set up access to email on Hosted Exchange 2010 or 2013 for the following clients and devices:

  • Outlook (for Windows and Mac)
  • Mac Mail
  • iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad
  • Android devices
  • Windows Phone
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server, BlackBerry Z10, and BlackBerry Q10 (using ActiveSync)

Lync

The Help Tool provides instructions to set up access to Hosted Lync for the following devices and operating systems:

  • Windows
  • iOS
  • Mac
  • Android
  • Windows/RT
