An “object” is the basic storage entity that represents the “files” you store in your Cloud Files account. When you upload data to Cloud Files the data is stored as-is (no compression or encryption).
Objects also support "metadata" which are key/value pairs of custom information that you can associate with the object. For instance, you may want to add custom "tags" to any images you upload such as a photo-album name, the date the picture was taken, etc.
You can store any number of objects within a container.
