Where are the Rackspace data centers (DFW, LON, HKG, etc.)?

Rackspace has data centers across the globe to better serve you, grouped into regions based on their locations. Available regions include cities like Dallas-Fort Worth, London, and Hong Kong, but are referred to in the control panel and APIs by three-letter symbols like DFW, LON, and HKG. You may provision a cloud service in any region for which that service is available. You may see a complete list of Rackspace regions on our Global Infrastructure page.

For more information about regions, see About Regions.

Cloud Sites customers choose their region when they provision their account. To find the region a Cloud Site is deployed in, log in to the Cloud Sites Control Panel and view the test link for the site. The region will be displayed in the portion of the test URL's domain that comes before "websitetestlink". For example, if the test link starts with "http://www.domain.com.php5-1.dfw1-1.websitetestlink.com", your site is in the DFW region.

The following is a list of available regions:

  • Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW)
  • Chicago (ORD)
  • Northern Virginia (IAD)
  • London (LON)
  • Sydney (SYD)
  • Hong Kong (HKG)

Note: Not all cloud services are available in all regions. Regions may also be temporarily unavailable for provisioning new services due to capacity or other concerns. Exceptions can be requested by contacting Support.
