Should my CGI/Perl script be uploaded in ASCII or binary?

CGI/Perl scripts should always be uploaded in ASCII. While most FTP clients automatically upload files in the correct format, this function does not always guarantee the file was actually uploaded correctly. It is suggested to manually set your FTP program to ASCII and proceed to upload your CGI/Perl script.

After uploading your CGI/Perl script, be sure to change the pemissions on the file to 755.
