Remote Login Procedures

To work with your Cloud Server you'll need to establish a connection from your local computer to the remote server. How you make the connection depends on your local system's operating system.

How do you reset the SSH root password?

You can go to the server settings in the control panel and choose the option to reset the root password. SSH is a means of connection, so the root password is set for the server rather than that particular service.

If you still have trouble you might have set the server to refuse SSH connections for the root user. In that case you can log in via the web console (also accessed through the control panel) so you can edit the SSH settings.

It's not really a good idea to ssh to root. Better use a regular id in the sudoer file then use sudo

I completely agree. It's usually best to disable remote access for root in the sshd_config file on any server.
