Code Sample – Add User To Your Account Through API (cURL)

To add a user to your account through the API, you can do the following:

  1. Get a token.
    • Through password-authentication:

    • Through API key authentication:

    The access.token.id in the response is the token.

  2. Create a new user.
    • Specifying a password:

    • Not specifying a password (one will be generated and sent back in the response):

Any newly-created user for your account will have the same access that you have, except that they will not be able to create or update other users.

You can also update or delete a user.

  • Update:

I cannot get the password and API key authentication to work. I am trying to authenticate using a LON-based account and double-checked the API key, username and password.

I keep getting

The URL you'll want to use for UK accounts is different from what's used in the examples. We'll get the article updated - sorry about that. Use the API URL:
