• When performing troubleshooting on an unresponsive server, another way to gain access is to place your server in Rescue Mode.  This will allow you to log into a copy of the server and perform configuration changes needed to repair your server, or retrieve files and directories.  You can read more detailed articles on using Rescue Mode for Linux and Rescue Mode for Windows in the next module of this guide.
