How to Deploy WordPress Packages by Using Rackspace Deployments
Rackspace Deployments for Cloud Servers simplifies the process of creating a WordPress environment, either as a stand-alone server or in a multiple-server cluster.
This guide covers the process of deploying your servers and preparing them for use with WordPress, using these steps:
Deploying the Servers
Log in to the Cloud Control Panel.
Under the Servers tab, click Deployments.
On the Deployments screen, click the Create Deployment button.
Enter a name for the deployment and select the region in which its servers should be created.
Under Bluprints, select the radio button next to the WordPress deployment and choose a deployment option from the drop-down menu.
If you arranged for a deployment package with the Rackspace sales team, use the following table to select the relevant WordPress deployment:

At the bottom of the page, enter the site's address, administrative username and password, and a prefix that will be used with table names in the WordPress database.
NOTE: If you want to use SSL, select "https" from the Site Address drop-down box and provide your SSL certificate, private key, and an intermediate certificate (if any) for your Certificate Authority.
Click Next Step to progress.
On the Infrastructure Details page, set the number of additional web servers for the environment (if you chose a multi-server deployment) and select the server size for the web instance or instances.
If your deployment includes a separate database server, select a size for that server.
Click Create Deployment.
A page displaying the details of the deployment appears. The Status field displays as "Up" once the deployment is complete.
Accessing the Servers
After your deployment is ready, click View Generated Passwords on the status screen to access login information for your new servers.
You are provided with an SSH key you can use to access the servers in your deployment as the root user, the root password for the database, and the password for the WordPress Admin user (labeled "Admin Password").
Save the SSH key and record the login information in a secure place. You might need them at some point in the future and you cannot view them again.

Setting Up DNS
If you host your DNS with Rackspace DNS, you can now add a DNS record for your new WordPress deployment. For information about adding a DNS record, please see Creating DNS Records for Cloud Servers. Point your domain to the public IP address of the load balancer that was created for you.
If you are not ready to use public DNS with WordPress, modify your desktop's Hosts file to point your domain to your new deployment. For information on modifying your Hosts file, see see How do I Modify My Hosts File. Be sure to use the load balancer public IP address.
After you are finished, you can start using WordPress by navigating to the URL that you entered during the deployment configuration.
