Golf—I like to play fast and walk (the way golf was meant to be played). I love to be first out at daylight and walk at least 18 holes and often 27 or 36 at a time. Even better if my son or daughter join me!

Reading or studying about 19th century American West - from Lewis & Clark to Wounded Knee. My interest was initially sparked on a side trip through Lincoln, New Mexico (while traveling with the family) which exposed me to "Billy the Kid" and all of the legends and myths surrounding the Lincoln County Wars. A couple of books later and I was hooked. Learning about the actual events, reconciling fact and myth, finding out for myself and just going through the discovery process fascinated me. It is kind of like a forensic process to solve the mystery or puzzle. I enjoy actually traveling throughout the West in addition to reading about the events. I specifically like to visit small towns or places of significant historical importance.

"Know yourself, know your friends, know your enemies and then lead the right way". Leadership philosophy of Crazy Horse (great Lakota warrior and chief).
