Web App Designer

Reports To: Manager, Technical Projects
Location: Blacksburg, VA
Classification: Full-Time/Part-Time
As a Web Application Designer, you are working to design the web applications our customers use every day. Each day is a learning experience as you spend your time working on user interfaces, honing your skills, and designing incredible web based products. You revel in the opportunity to work with some great designers. You love your job and you love knowing that what you do plays a vital role in keeping our customers happy!
Your responsibilities to the customers (the people who pay us the big bucks) include:
- Thinking creatively and pushing the boundaries of design
- Listening to their suggestions and building the best products possible
- Focusing on usability to provide a fanatical customer experience
Your responsibilities to your co-workers (the people pounding at your door) include:
- Using strong conceptual skills and an innovative design perspective
- Continually keeping our designs clean, usable and adaptable to our design standards
- Communicating important details about our solutions and services efficiently
Important Skills and Characteristics:
- You should have a great portfolio, a solid understanding of web graphics and user experience, and have working knowledge of the following:
- Web Design (and/or interface design)
- Software usability
- XHTML/CSS/JavaScript
