As promised, yesterday we launched webmail version 6.0, codenamed Concord. This version of webmail has more than 50 new features including the following:
- Shared calendars
- Event scheduling
- Multiple task lists
- Drag-and-drop
- Improved spell check
- Improved HTML editor
- Auto-save drafts
- A new menu system
- …and much more.
Email users that log into www.webmail.us should notice the changes already. Resellers and private-label webmail sites are able to upgrade via the control panel for the next 60 days, at which point everyone will be upgraded. In order to upgrade, simply log into your control panel and follow the steps in the System Status section on the main page that you see after you login. And the new webmail user manual is also online if you’d like to read it.
We will be blogging in more detail about some of the new features in the coming days and weeks.

Launched: Concord, Webmail Version 6.0
The new Concord system is outstanding. It is much more usable and the feature enhancements are highly beneficial to my organization.
Will these features be integrated into the mobile version of webmail in the near future? Particularly, I hear comments from many on our staff about the lack of a calendar in the mobile version which is a hinderance for some of our team out in the field.
Keep up the great work!
Hi Chris,
Glad you like the new version. To answer your question… yes, you will start to see many of these features available in Webmail Mobile over time. We don’t have a specific time horizon yet though. You will also see webmail advance very quickly over the coming months. We are just getting started.
Very good release…now you just need to add shared tasks!
Hi Bob,
Coming soon!
Is there a way to be notified when a new email comes in?
Hi Cindy,
We really don’t have an email notification system, but we do plan to add one with audio included.
It’s great to see this new web functionality coming. More fundamental administrator control is a higher priority for our organization, though. The fact that you can’t rename an email address (without migrating it to a new one first) is an obstacle we run into whenever someone gets married or we need to change an address. Aliases are great, but they don’t solve these basic tasks of email administration.
WOW! I am really amazed at how you KEEP updating things! I am really pleased with your service and will recommend it any chance I get!
Is there a way to set which email address the schedule notifications go to? I would love to set it up so I get a text message alert for appointments!
Jacob,
We’re adding support for alternative email address and text message notifications in Version 6.3 which we will release in mid-March, or around that time. Version 6.2 will be released in a couple of weeks which will include a new Contacts section and a lot of speed improvements.
Thanks for noticing!
GREAT! Do you have a list of feature enhancements for 6.2? What will be different about the contacts section? I would love to see contact photo support!
We’re not releasing a list quite yet… but we’ll announce once we release 6.2 to beta, which will be in a few days. It will not include photo support but that is something we will consider for the future.
