enStratus is the only complete cloud management application for enterprise and software-as-a-service applications. Based in Minneapolis, MN, enStratus serves hundreds of organizations worldwide.
enStratus™ creates a bridge into public cloud infrastructures such as The Rackspace Cloud™ for enterprise IT by enabling IT to leverage existing policies and procedures with the public cloud. Our patent-pending security architecture enables you to keep your authentication and encryption credentials off of your public cloud servers except when they are needed to perform vital functions. enStratus provides:
- User-management across multiple accounts and departments. With a single click, remove a user’s access from the console and all servers in your public cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to play different roles in different accounts.
- Ability to enforce two-factor authentication into cloud servers.
- Automated encryption from the file system to SSL certificate management to encrypted, cross-cloud backups with disaster recovery.
- Automated backup rotation, with four different levels of backups.
- Monitoring of cloud resources with automated recovery of failed resources.
- Alerts on a variety of adverse events.
- Auto-scaling leveraging customizable utilization metrics.
- Support for Rackspace Cloud servers, images, Cloud Files, and Rackspace CDN.
The enStratus console divides into three core functions:
- Cloud Resource Management
The user management console enables you to define user roles as well as set up and maintain your user base. Because of the multi-tenant enStratus architecture, a given user may login with a single set of credentials, yet have different access rights to different accounts. The cloud resource management console provides control over the raw resources that comprise your Rackspace Cloud infrastructure. Launch servers, image existing servers, give users shell access to running servers, and set up your CDN all through this interface. Finally, the enStratus application clustering console enables you to define your deployment architecture, including desired availability levels, security profile, auto-scaling, and auto-recovery parameters. enStratus leverages this information to manage production systems deployed into the Rackspace Cloud.
