Welcome Cloudkick to the Rackspace Family; Fanatical Support Gets New Tools

Rackspace® Hosting is thrilled to announce the recent acquisition of Cloudkick, an award-winning Web application for easy and efficient cloud server management. Many of you already know the company as a Rackspace partner and leader in the Cloud tools space.
For those who aren’t familiar with Cloudkick, it’s a two-year-old startup that offers a world-class systems management service for computing in the Cloud era. At the heart of Cloudkick is a dashboard that helps administrators and developers manage their computing. The service includes comprehensive monitoring powered by the Cloudkick agent. With its self-service provisioning, custom configuration and comprehensive reporting, the monitoring suite is best in class. Furthermore, Cloudkick has been built to deliver at the scale of the cloud era – the company has already allowed users to manage more than a million servers!
Rackspace has big plans to incorporate the Cloudkick suite into our hosting and cloud services. Rackspace customers (or anyone managing servers anywhere) can easily add their servers to the Cloudkick dashboard and start to experience its magic. In the coming months, Cloudkick and Rackspace toolsets will become more integrated, including full incorporation into our managed service level.
We are excited about the addition of the toolset that Cloudkick has built, as well as 12 new talented Rackers that will be joining us from Cloudkick. With this acquisition, Rackspace will broaden its presence in the Bay Area, making Cloudkick’s San Francisco office the latest home for Fanatical Support® and innovation in cloud computing.
