VMworld 2013: Come Talk OpenStack And VMware With Rackspace

At Rackspace, we have a full hybrid cloud portfolio that offers you solutions powered by VMware and powered by OpenStack. It’s all about choice. And next week, our Rackspace experts will be evangelizing this choice at the 10th anniversary of VMworld[1] in San Francisco, where a whopping crowd of 22,000 tech professionals and business decision makers are expected to attend.

If you’ll be at the Moscone Center for VMworld 2013, make sure to swing by our booth (#2404) for a conversation on the latest tech trends with our product engineers and architects. We’ll also have tons of free giveaways like Southwest flight vouchers, noise-canceling headphones and wheeled briefcases that recharge your electronics on the go.

We just launched Dedicated VMware® vCenter Server™[2] under our Rackspace Managed Virtualization[3] service portfolio. Dedicated vCenter gives our customers the ability to migrate existing VMware workloads out of their on-premise data center and into a Rackspace data center, while still leveraging existing tools to maintain the control, agility and governance they require.

This dedicated vCenter offering makes a Rackspace-hosted VMware environment look and feel like an extension of a customer’s own data center. It enables them to manage the hosted VMs via vCenter Server APIs, third-party tools and their existing service catalogs, orchestration platforms and portals.

Customers can provision VMs in minutes with familiar orchestration tools and gain visibility into costs and usage on- or off-premise through a single user interface. The Rackspace-hosted VMs are pro-actively supported by VMware Certified Professionals (VCPs) up to the guest-OS layer, and backed by a 100 percent network uptime guarantee and enterprise-grade SLA.

We’ll be demonstrating the power and capabilities of Dedicated VMware vCenter Server along with two compatible, third-party orchestration tools in our booth Monday, August 26 through Wednesday, August 28 at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Each day from noon to 1 p.m., and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., we’ll highlight Dedicated vCenter with ServiceMesh Agility Platform™; and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., we’ll showcase Dedicated vCenter with VMware vCloud® Automation Center™ (vCAC).

On Monday, August 26, join Rackspace Enterprise Cloud Strategist Paul Croteau for a talk on disaster recovery (DR) and VMware vCenter™ Site Recovery Manager™[4] (SRM). You’ll learn about Rackspace Replication Manager[5] (powered by SRM) and DR planning.

We’re also hosting a Rackspace event at Twenty Five Lusk on Tuesday, August 27 starting at 6:30 p.m. Learn how your industry peers are leveraging OpenStack for their businesses and get your technical questions answered by our onsite experts. We’ll have free hors d’oeuvres, drinks and guest appearances by Rackspace’s new CMO Rick Jackson, Rackspace CTO of Global Enterprise Solutions Sean Wedige and Rackspace partner NuSpective Solutions[6]. Click here to register for the Open Up with OpenStack event[7].

With more than 300 unique breakout sessions, this year’s VMworld is guaranteed to draw some of the industry’s top cloud aficionados. Don’t miss your opportunity to get your questions answered in person by our Rackspace experts!
