Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst Talks Transparency During Rackspace Visit

At Rackspace, transparency is one of our core values; and on Friday, Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst swung by our San Antonio headquarters to share a glimpse into plans to increase transparency in government and to protect the online privacy and data of citizens.

“More and more of peoples’ private information is stored and shared online, and as it is it’s increasing the opportunities for both theft and violations of the essential right of privacy,” Dewhurst told Rackers. “Before the control of this personal information gets completely away from us, I think it’s time for us to act.”

Dewhurst also used his visit to showcase many of Texas’ major accomplishments in creating jobs, stimulating the economy and becoming an attractive location for businesses.

“People are coming here for opportunity,” he said, citing a Time magazine piece that called Texas the future of America.
