The dozen TechStars startups had their big reveal on Wednesday to a packed crowd during a Demo Day at Boston’s Royale Nightclub. Diversity is probably the best word to describe the group. Participating startups included everything from gaming to SaaS to medical services and devices.
The Rackspace Startup Program was on hand when Demo Day got started bright and early. Sitting in a nightclub at 9 a.m. is a somewhat alien experience, but in some ways it was entirely appropriate. Why, after all, should the the new and shiny be demoed in a traditional business setting?
And maybe that was the mindset as the presenters faced the crowd to vie for investments, because they each owned the stage, earning ovations with their allotted times. At the time of writing, the 12 startups from Boston have already raised over $4 million dollars and more deals undoubtably on the verge of being inked.
