Musicians focus a lot of their efforts on promoting themselves to fans, but tend to fall short when sharing their projects with other professionals in the industry that can help them expand their reach and advance their careers. It can be a pain keeping your press kit up-to-date. So, the team at Indie Ambassador has created a web app called Presskit.to, a new kind of electronic press kit (EPK) that allows music professionals of all shapes and sizes to more effectively share the full picture of any given project, album or tour.
In the Las Vegas dictionary, a high roller is a gambler who wagers large amounts of money. The Vegas slang for a high roller is “whale.”  Whales are people who play a minimum of $50,000 per hand, spin or roll, and who have no problem winning or losing millions in one night. The online entertainment industry is now increasingly driven by whales, particularly where per download or a la carte pricing is used. AuManil is targeting the expected $40 billion free-to-play online games market where they help manage the most valuable players — the 1 percent of players that generate 50 percent of a game’s revenues, the whales.

This year, we wanted to say ‘Happy Holidays’ to our customers, but instead of a simple greeting we decided to put some muscle behind the message. We offered $1 for every unique view of our choreographed holiday kookiness, up to $10,000, with the donations split between five of our nonprofit partners:  Communities in Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters, City Year, Girls Inc. and FIRST Robotics. We sent it to our customers – if you haven’t received it yet, you should soon – and thought it was reasonable to leave this offer on the table until the end of 2012.
Fresh off a record-breaking Cyber Monday, the holiday season is in full swing for Rackspace’s cadre of e-retail partners.

Insurance Zebra, based in Pittsburgh, Pa., is a web-based application that allows users to compare live car insurance quotes from all major carriers. Instead of shopping around for rates from each individual car insurance company, Insurance Zebra simplifies that process. Some sites claim to offer similar services, but turn out to be bait and switch schemes that sell your information, or only offer “estimates.” Insurance Zebra bills itself as an unbiased resource for an instant, accurate, simple car insurance comparison. It’s like Kayak for car insurance.
