New Cloud Servers Drive More Than 6X Performance Boost
Thanks to our new Performance Cloud Servers, Rackspace customer Commissions Inc. saw major improvements in CPU usage and processing speed[1]. You can read all about it in this guest post from the company’s Chief Software Architect Matthew Swanson.

A New Loyalty Program For Cloud Servers
Our goal at Rackspace is to serve our customers so they will grow with us and never leave. That’s why we recently rolled out a new loyalty program[2], designed to reward long-term and high-volume customers with discounts.

Got The Need For Speed? Meet Performance Cloud Servers
This week we unveiled Performance Cloud Servers, which are engineered to deliver exceptional levels of application performance with greater speed, throughput, reliability and scale. In our benchmark tests, these servers significantly outperformed Standard Cloud Servers[3] with 2.1X more CPU performance, 59X more disk I/O, 3.6X more network bandwidth and 10X better MongoDB performance.

Big News Brews At OpenStack Summit Hong Kong
There were a number of big announcements at OpenStack Summit Hong Kong this week. Here’s a roundup[4] of some of the biggest, which includes several new partnerships and the election of Huawei, Hitachi and Aptira as Gold Members by the OpenStack Board of Directors.

OpenStack For Research, Academia: MIT, Rackspace Take The Stage At OpenStack Summit [Video]
At OpenStack Summit, Rackspace and MIT experts took the stage to discuss how OpenStack is powering sophisticated research projects in academic. Check out this awesome video[5], featuring Rackspace Director of Training and Certification Tony Campbell and Jonathan Proulx, senior technical architect in MIT’s Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), and Rackspace.

Cloud Queues Available Now To All Cloud Customers
This week, we rolled out Rackspace Cloud Queues[6], a persistent and redundant system to help keep your applications running. What’s more is that we’re giving away Cloud Queues for free until January 2014 so you can performance test it and get familiar with the API without worrying about the bill.
