Rackspace Weekly Digest For November 16

You can practically smell the turkey in the oven – or the fryer, if that’s your thing. Here at the Rack, we’re going into Thanksgiving full throttle with key training initiatives on the horizon and some cool new product offerings under our belts.

Check out what we’ve been up to this week, and what’s to come in this week’s digest.

OpenStack Training Goes To Hong Kong
Next month, Rackspace will offer public OpenStack training in APAC for the first time. On December 11 in Hong Kong, Rackspace will offer its flagship four-day training course designed to take you from zero to 10 on OpenStack. The course will introduce students to the project and walk them through each component, from Nova and Swift, to Glance and Keynote, and more. The course is aimed at technical individuals and comprises lectures, discussions, demos and hands on labs. Head over to the Rackspace Hong Kong site for additional information and to register for the course.

Get Ready For SharePoint Tuesday
There are only two more SharePoint Tuesdays scheduled for this year (November 20 and December 18). Register today so you don’t miss out. SharePoint Tuesdays are virtual Q&As held the third Tuesday of each month where you can get answers to your most pressing SharePoint questions from our team of SharePoint experts.

Coverage From SharePoint Conference 2012
Rackspace’s team of SharePoint experts was out in full force this week at SharePoint Conference 2012 in Las Vegas. Rackers participated in a host of speaking engagements and offered real-time coverage of the event. Check out our coverage from SharePoint Conference 2012.

Learn More About Rackspace Service Registry
Last week we announced the preview availability of Rackspace Service Registry, a tool to help developers make their applications highly available through exposing the building blocks for automation and centralized configuration storage. We want to give our customers some more insight into the Service Registry, and this week we launched the first article in a Service Registry “Behind the Scenes” series where we talk in depth about different aspects of the product.

Rackspace Private Cloud Update
This week we updated the Rackspace Private Cloud Software, which now incorporates the latest stable release of OpenStack, Folsom, and adds new features like core software support, block storage, object storage and monitoring. We’ve also enhanced Rackspace Private Cloud support.

Control The Open Cloud With Windows 8
This week we launched a new app that lets users manage their Rackspace Cloud account directly from Microsoft Windows 8. You can control Cloud Servers, Cloud Files and Cloud Load Balancers directly from the Windows 8 UI.
