Rackspace Weekly Digest For August 27

It was another big week here at Rackspace. A lot happened, and there’s more to come. Here’s the breakdown, in case you missed it.

Cloud Monitoring Available To All

With Rackspace Cloud Monitoring now in Unlimited Availability, our customers can start using it to monitor any cloud or infrastructure, whether it’s hosted in your data center or ours. It’s really that simple: you can use Cloud Monitoring to monitor all IT infrastructure through a single interface, regardless of vendor or location.

Spin Up A Cloud Server With A Sandwich?

Are you hungry, but need to get a Cloud Server spun up before lunch? Combine the two. We used a Makey Makey to turn the ingredients of a BLT sandwich into a working keyboard and mouse, and with the new Rackspace Cloud Control Panel we were able to quickly and deliciously spin up a Cloud Server powered by OpenStack.

SharePoint 2013 Webinar Series

Now that SharePoint 2013 is in beta, our team of SharePoint experts wants to highlight the ins and outs the latest version of SharePoint. Through a series of SharePoint 2013 webinars, Rackspace’s SharePoint team will highlight everything from how to make SharePoint more social to upgrading to SharePoint 2013. The webinars start today, so tune in and learn.

Our New Australia Data Center

Rackspace last week opened a brand new data center in Sydney, Australia. Along with being able to offer our Australian customers local dedicated hosting and managed virtualization, it also paves the way for Rackspace’s OpenStack-based open cloud platform in Australia.
