Rackspace Weekly Digest For August 13

It’s been another action-packed week here at Rackspace. And there’s a lot more to come. In case you missed anything, here’s a handy recap of some of the week’s biggest stories.

Rackspace Is The Open Cloud Company

On the heels of the launch of the Rackspace open cloud, Rackspace officially became “the open cloud company.” It’s much more than an enhancement to the Rackspace brand and a tagline on our logo; it reinforces our commitment to being a leader in open source and open cloud development.

How I Contribute To OpenStack…

Rackspace has built its open cloud on top of OpenStack, the open source cloud operating system that we co-founded. Now, we’re hearing from key OpenStack contributors about how they became involved in OpenStack and what contributions they’ve made to the community-driven effort. Hear directly from them in the new “How I Contribute To OpenStack” series. First up is Red Hat’s Mark McLoughlin. And if you’re an OpenStack contributor with insight to share, get in touch; we’d love to hear your story.

Developers Take Center Stage

When we launched the Rackspace open cloud earlier this month, our focus was on developers. The open cloud lets developers directly impact and influence the direction of products; provides early access to the code and APIs; and the offers ability to write tools and bindings for rapid integration.
