For people looking for a fundraising idea in Ireland, RunLastMan allows you to run live last man standing-style sports betting games for to raise money for clubs, charities and other organizations. All games are hosted on the RunLastMan website where people join, pay and make their predictions online via laptop, phone or tablet.
RunLastMan was formed in Dublin in 2013 and turning the budding startup into a viable business took roughly six months. In that time, RunLastMan secured almost 100 research surveys and a feasibility grant for funding. Between sports clubs and charities around the Emerald Isle, RunLastMan raised more than €20,000 for several causes in its first four months.
“The concept was conceived by me and my co-founder Dan Holden, realizing that the traditional fundraising efforts we’ve been bombarded with at our local sports club for the past 20 years had grown massively outdated,” explains RunLastMan CEO Graham Carrick.

When the time came to architect the RunLastMan platform, the team enrolled in the globally expanded Rackspace Startup Program out of Rackspace’s United Kingdom office.

With our hosting covered by the Rackspace Startup Program for one year, this is a large weight off our back and we can concentrate our assets on creating a great product, launching new ones and growing a great global business.”
For the team at RunLastMan, 2014 is all about growth.
“2014 has been a very positive year so far,” Carrick explains. “Once some loose ends are tied up the company will launch into the UK and add several more sports and games to the fundraising offer. 2014 will also see our mobile app and a brand new designed website along with some fundraising of our own and some new staff members.”
And the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil is the perfect event to kick 2014 into high gear, Carrick says.
“We’ve been busy getting our World Cup sports prediction game out the door, as well as preparing our newest game to launch, with a brand new sport being added,” he concludes. “Also at the top of the list is to prepare the product for the addition of British Pounds as the company’s impending UK launch comes closer in time for the new 2014/15 English Premier League soccer season looms large.”
