Rackspace Startup Program Global Startup Event Guide: August 2013

August brings us International Left-Hander’s Day on the 13th. Columbus set sail on his first voyage to the new world in August of 1492. International Homeless Animals Day takes place on the 17th. This month saw the premiere of the movie The Wizard of Oz in 1939. Celebrate International Strange Music Day on August 24. Michael Jackson was born in Gary, Ind. in 1958, and became a worldwide music sensation on MTV, which made its debut in August of 1981. The 44th President of the United States, Barak Obama, was born this month in 1961. And, in the words of musician, writer, actor and activist Henry Rollins, “Every year, August lashes out in volcanic fury, rising with the din of morning traffic, its great metallic wings smashing against the ground, heating the air with ever-increasing intensity.”

Within the startup movement, there are plenty of events happening globally in August 2013. The Rackspace Startup Program is here to keep you up to date with valuable information on events and happenings inside the global startup community.
