Rackspace Launches Partner Leadership Council

Rackspace was excited this week to host our inaugural Partner Leadership Council, a forum through which Rackspace and a nominated group of select partners mapped out a strategy for future growth together.

The partner council charter members visited Rackspace’s San Antonio headquarters, The Castle, for two days of sessions and networking that highlighted Rackspace’s product roadmap, stronger partnership opportunities and cloud vision. The event also featured in-depth conversations with Rackspace executives; channel leaders and founders; and included a roundtable question and answer session between partners and executives hosted by Joe Panettieri, editorial director for MSPmentor, The VAR Guy and Talkin’ Cloud.

As part of the two-day forum, the partners were immersed in the Rackspace culture and history, along with getting the low-down on our trademark Fanatical Support. Those partners also underwent the Strengths Assessment, a must for all new Rackspace employees, or Rackers, and had a session in which their top five strengths were discussed.

The overall goal was to strengthen partnerships while giving these partners the full Rackspace experience, or “Rackerize” them, while encouraging them to become Fanatical Partner Ambassadors.

The event acted as the kick off for the Partner Leadership Council, which will hold two annual in-person meetings and two web conference calls. Rackspace created the Partner Leadership Council as a way to get feedback from our partners and understand how we are meeting the needs of the partnership. It also gives partners the opportunity to offer Rackspace valuable feedback on customer requirements, business strategies and technical direction, which will help partners better address their markets, customers and create opportunities to guide the future development and delivery of Rackspace services and offerings.

We sincerely appreciate the time our council members have invested in this important initiative and their valuable insight and feedback will help us further enhance the Rackspace Partner Program for our entire partner community.

Christopher Rajiah is vice president of Worldwide Partner Sales. Christopher is responsible for shaping the strategic vision and execution of the Worldwide Channel Partner Program for Rackspace Hosting. His responsibilities include overall go-to-market channel strategy, the channel sales organization, channel sales revenue, partner acquisition activities, partner marketing and developing and leading channel engagements worldwide. He is also responsible for the high-level vision and execution of the Global Partner Program and is the primary spokesperson to the channel media.

Prior to Rackspace Hosting, Christopher was responsible for North American Channels and Worldwide Strategic Alliances at Extreme Networks. In this role, he developed and executed Extreme Networks' North American channel strategy, led the Worldwide Alliance organization, and delivered best-in-class partner programs and training to support Extreme’s partner ecosystem.

Christopher’s experience also includes working for 3COM in their strategic named accounts group, where he was instrumental in adding a collection of significant enterprise wins to its customer base. Prior to 3COM, Rajiah spent four years managing the network services engineering team at Georgia State University.

In addition to his industry experience, Christopher has also earned his Masters in Computer Science from Georgia State University while adding to his breadth of experience and skills.
