Rackspace CTO John Engates will take the stage at the 2012 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) this week in Toronto to discuss cloud provider opportunities.
Engates is slated to speak at 12:30 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, July 10 as part of a panel discussion in the Hosting and Cloud Service Providers track. Engates will join Marco Limena, Vice President, Business Channels, Worldwide Operator Channels at Microsoft, and Michael Schutz, General Manager, Windows Server and Management, Product Marketing at Microsoft.
The discussion is expected to highlight how the shift to the cloud is accelerating and becoming more broadly adopted and where hosting service providers play in the cloud. The session will highlight market trends and offer an overview of provider opportunities in the cloud. It will also showcase some of Microsoft’s newest technologies that cloud and service providers can leverage.
Rackspace’s Microsoft portfolio boasts a wide breadth of solutions, including hosted and dedicated Exchange and SharePoint, Windows and SQL in the Rackspace Cloud and SQL 2012.
WPC runs through Thursday, July 12.
At the event, Rackspace will also receive the award for 2012 Microsoft Hosting Partner of the Year, which recognizes managed, cloud and hybrid hosting. This is the fourth time Rackspace has received this honor. Rackspace was chosen from more than 3,000 global Microsoft partners who applied and will accept the award in front of roughly 20,000 WPC attendees.
