In the two decades since the original Sac was created, LoveSac has grown into a multi-channel furniture retailer with more than 50 brick and mortar stores across the United States. Our annual sales have rapidly grown by 40 percent for the last five years on both the retail and ecommerce side.
As our customer base moves online, LoveSac is also transitioning to the web and focusing on ecommerce. Within the next 3 to 5 years, we want the online portion of our business to do as much in annual sales as our retail stores combined.
To achieve this level of scalability, we needed to evaluate and upgrade our ecommerce strategy. It was crucial for us to use providers that can offer flexibility and ease in managing products and content. After using an antiquated ecommerce platform for some time, we upgraded to Magento Enterprise.
Our solutions partner recommended Rackspace as somebody that we needed to look at as part of our upgrade – and they were right. Since moving content over to Rackspace, we’ve seen speed improvement of up to 20 percent. This level of speed is the cornerstone of developing a high-performing online store for any ecommerce retailer.
As we’ve grown with Magento, we’ve had to scale our infrastructure at the same time. Magento and Rackspace worked closely to architect a solution that has helped scale our business seamlessly without the hassle of building everything in-house.
Rackspace also enables LoveSac’s business platform in the cloud. The Rackspace Hybrid Cloud lets us run our workloads where they can achieve the highest performance for the lowest total cost. It also allows us to take advantage of the scalability of Cloud Servers while using a dedicated server to securely process payment transactions.
The Rackspace Hybrid Cloud delivers performance, reliability and pay-as-you-go scalability, which are effective during our key sales periods. We do 40 percent of our annual sales from Black Friday to Christmas. It’s really important for the merchant, the solutions provider and the hosting provider to have all of the bases covered when preparing for traffic spikes.
We consider Rackspace part of the LoveSac team. It came up with a customer solution for us, to get more of our content on the cloud, to speed up the site and to do additional optimization. Rackspace has been there along the way with really great support. Anytime that we have run into issues, the support has been phenomenal.
