International Museum Day is celebrated May 18; this year’s theme, chose by the museum community, is “Museum Collections Make Connections.” The first Kentucky Derby ran this month in 1875. World No Tobacco Day takes place on the 31st of May. And, in the words of Irish novelist, playwright and poet Oliver Goldsmith, “But winter lingering chills the lap of May.”
