December brings us World AIDS Day on the first day of the month, an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have passed. Thomas Edison invented the phonograph in December of 1877 and Marconi first broadcast his radio signal across the Atlantic Ocean in 1901. Disney’s founder Walt, golf’s Tiger Woods, lyricist Ira Gershwin and baseball great Ty Cobb celebrate birthdays this month. It was December 1903 when the Wright brothers first flew, and 1968 when Apollo 8 reached the moon. And in the words of Dr. Seuss, “How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”

November brings us All Saints Day on the first day of the month. The International Space Station opened for business this month in the year 2000. Basketball inventor James Naismith, pioneer Daniel Boone, industrialist Andrew Carnegie and Disney’s chief mouseXcutive Mickey Mouse celebrate their birthdays in November. In the USA, there are many days celebrating food, including nachos, deviled eggs, sandwiches, candy, homemade bread, cashews and Thanksgiving. And, in the words of American poet Elizabeth Jane Coatsworth, “November comes, and November goes, with the last red berries, and the first white snows.”
When Accruent acquires a new brand, it’s not a question if the infrastructure will move to Rackspace, it’s a question of when.
A lot of companies and startups view DevOps as an option for the future. At Zipline Labs, however, we took an unconventional approach to DevOps. We’ve leveraged Rackspace DevOps Automation Service from our inception. We know that a company without a clear vision is a company without a future; and we see our technology as the loudest voice of our vision. Your technology can’t speak on a second-rate platform. We didn’t want to wait and then have to migrate all of our previous work, including any mistakes we made, to a new platform. Instead, we chose to speed development and deployments across our dev, demo, staging and production environments.
