DevOps is a concept with different interpretations and definitions, but when you get down to it, it’s all about developers and operations teams breaking down silos and working together to innovate faster. For many companies, the ability to innovate at a rapid pace — responding to market conditions and customer feedback — is a key factor for success.
If you’re like most of us, the headache of managing your email inbox is the last thing you need. You just need it to “work.” You don’t need to worry about deleting mail to stay under your storage limit, how you’re going to send a big attachment to a colleague, accessing mail while on the go or potential spam and phishing attempts that may compromise your email. And you certainly don’t want to spend time learning a new interface; you just need Outlook to work the same as it always has.
Rackspace Performance Cloud Servers are available now in our Dallas region. That means you can leverage our new breed of Cloud Servers built specifically for exceptional levels of application performance in each of our three US regions – North Virginia (IAD), Chicago (ORD) and, as of today, Dallas (DFW).
Today we launched Auto Scale, one of the most exciting new features of the Rackspace Cloud. Auto Scale is the easiest way to make your Rackspace Cloud react automatically to changes in the demand your users place on your application. By creating a few simple rules based on thresholds that you define and control, you let us know when and how to grow (or shrink) the web or application tiers in your cloud.
The biggest benefit of the cloud is its ability to scale. Today, we make that easier with Unlimited Availability of Rackspace Auto Scale—a new tool that empowers you to grow or shrink your cloud dynamically. The product is offered for free to Rackspace customers, though you will still be charged for the cloud servers you utilize in scaling.
Do you need help deciphering the signal from the noise so you can concentrate on what’s most important to you? The new Rackspace Cloud Intelligence data visualization platform, which is available today, delivers insightful, actionable and customized messages to help you manage your deployments.
Since we launched Rackspace Cloud Databases in August 2012 we have experienced great commitment from our customers who have chosen it as their database platform. In this time, we have expanded the availability of Cloud Databases from three to six regions worldwide, keeping the pricing simple, improving reliability and increasing performance.
Last week, we launched Rackspace Performance Cloud Servers, a new breed of cloud servers built to deliver exceptional levels of application performance, and made them available in our Northern Virginia (IAD) region. Today, we’re expanding the reach of Performance Cloud Servers to our Chicago (ORD) and London (LON) regions.
The newest version of Rackspace Private Cloud software is available for Early Access now, and it’s based on the latest and greatest OpenStack release: Havana.
This past week we had a special Cloud Office Hours, where we got to talk with Erik Carlin, the director of product in charge of our new Performance Cloud Servers. We recently made these 100 percent SSD and 10Gb Ethernet machines available in our data centers and have had tremendous interest from customers. I cover some of the highlights below, but this is going to be one Hangout that you don’t want to miss. Take a look at the entire video, embedded at the bottom of this post.
