Today is the day. Our Rackspace San Francisco office is opening its doors today to friends, family and the local San Francisco community.

A year ago Rackspace acquired Cloudkick, a Y Combinator startup known for its cloud monitoring software, and shortly after Anso Labs, the group behind the NASA Nebula Cloud and experts on OpenStack. Today both groups along with our previously office-less work from home Bay-Area-Rackers are coming under the same roof to deliver cloud computing products.

“I am thrilled to welcome Rackspace to their new home in SoMa,” said Mayor Ed Lee. “San Francisco offers forward thinking companies like Rackspace a premier location to find the top talent that drives innovation.”

To us in San Francisco, this office is more than an office. Located in the vibrant startup SoMa neighborhood it is designed to be a welcoming place for the community; from hosting various meet-ups and hackathons, to having a full studio for Robert Scoble’s Tech Talks featuring some of the most interesting companies in the Bay Area.

When you swing by our San Francisco home you will see personal and local touches such as a mural by a well-known Mission muralist, Max Ehrman. A bike corner full of PUBLIC Bikes and bike shop where our resident bike enthusiast, Ken Wronkiewicz, is providing ever-enlightening tips on proper maintenance. Not to mention a game room and a classic DIY DJ set.

This office is very much home. We invite you to watch along today from 4 to 6 pm PST as our executives, fellow Bay Area companies New Relic, Loggly, GoPro and Foodpsotting and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee celebrate our new Rackspace San Francisco office – http://www.rackspace.com/impact

If you are in this great City of ours, stop on by for the party today.

And If you’re passionate and interested in what we are doing, join us at http://rackertalent.com/san-francisco/
