Even though Duncan started hacking at the (then) early age of 11, he didn't start professionally coding until 1996. Within a few years of discovering Python (1999), he was hacking on asynchronous applications using Twisted. Since then, he hasn't stopped exploring the history and recent advances in the field of distributed computing.
In a weird twist of fate, Duncan started managing teams in 1993 (while in the Army). It is these and other skills that he offered to Rackspace when he joined as a manager in late 2012.
