With the holiday shopping season fast approaching, we asked 106 decision makers for e-retailers their thoughts on the holiday season and online shopping. The results here reflect their top responses.

Bottom line: it’s important to get your e-commerce site ready for the holiday shopping crunch.

While 91 percent of IT decision makers said they have a positive opinion of the cloud, 86 percent said cloud lock-in is an important concern; 92 percent said the ability to move data and applications easily between providers is a key consideration; and 43 percent are aware that rogue IT is occurring in their organizations and people are using cloud services independently of the IT department.

Meanwhile, 75 percent said that a cloud provider with strong customer service and technical support is preferred, even if that means paying a little bit more.

“We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy!”  I’d like to send a quick, personal shout-out to all “Real Rackers” everywhere and especially those of you kind enough to endure our storming of The Castle for our story (News 4 WOAI at 6:30).

I can’t tell you how much “job envy” everyone here has after looking at our footage. You should feel very proud of where you “work” and I hope we get across the real vibe of what it’s like to be there every day. It’s pretty entertaining and I’m guessing that more than a few “wanna-be Rackers” will try to join you after seeing our story.  I hope they’re worthy.
