Set Up CNAME for Private Label Login

After you have purchased a private label webmail site, you will need to add a CNAME record to your domain’s DNS records. To add a CNAME record for your webmail site, perform the following steps:

  1. Contact your DNS hosting company and ask them to add the following record to your DNS. Or, if you can log into the control panel for your DNS, you can make this change yourself.
  2. Add the following record to your DNS:

    Hostname*:
    webmail

    Record Type:
    CNAME

    Address:
    webmail.mymailsrvr.com

Address (if you have purchased SSL):
    mydomain-com.webmail.mymailsrvr.com

* The hostname is the word that appears at the beginning of your webmail site’s URL. Common hostnames are "webmail" and "mail"—such as webmail.mydomain.com or mail.mydomain.com.

Note: To learn about customizing your private label webmail site and login page, please see the topics related to those specific features.
